Happy Monday my Busy Moms! Like I always say, I hope you had a better than ever weekend!

As summer break is soon coming to an end for our children, this is the perfect time for you to start planning, preparing, and getting organized for the school year. I know you may not feel like it and just want to be “on break”, but unfortunately, it has to get done.

Nothing just happens, it must be planned.

Don’t be the one waiting until the last minute to try and get er’ythang (not everything), but er’ythang done. You are already busy so let’s not make it even more stressful.

7 Ways To Prepare For Back To School

So, here’s 7 Ways To Prepare For Back To School

1 – Create a Checklist:

Make sure you create a checklist and list out everything that needs to be done with you planning, preparing, and getting organized. This includes: getting kids’ school clothes/uniforms, shoes, school supplies, schedules, etc.

2 – Get Connected & Stay Connected with Kids’ School:

If you haven’t already, I’m sure you will start getting updates and notifications from your child’s school. So be sure you are on their contact lists such as emails, social media groups, or apps if they utilize those as well. Also, make sure your contact information is all up to date with the school.

3 – Get the Kids Back on Schedule:

Before school starts, it’s a good habit to start getting the kids back on their school schedules about 1-2 weeks before school starts. This looks like them going to bed earlier than their summer sleep schedule and also possibly waking up earlier as well. This helps make your morning and night routines run a lot more smoother once school begins.

4 – Calendar Your Dates:

Start calendaring important dates on the calendar for the school season. You may not know all of the dates right now, but you can for sure get it started.

5 – Get an Inventory of your kids’ clothes, shoes, and supplies:

Before you buy any school clothes/uniforms or supplies, make sure you take a good look at what you have currently in your home.  You don’t want to overspend, but you definitely don’t want to underspend either and get less than what you actually really need.

6 – Meal Plan:

I know you are probably like, “girl, it is too early to start thinking about what the kids will eat each week, if I don’t even know what I want today”. LOL I get you, but hey, trust me, if you have it planned, you will be so thankful you did it! Whether it’s you planning your kids’ breakfast at home or school, their lunches, snacks and dinner, whatever it is, let’s plan for it.

7 – Create a Space for Kids’ School Items:

If you don’t already have one, this would be a good time to set up a space or area in your home to keep and store all of the kids’ school items. It’s nice to have these items in one centralized place so you are not looking all over the house for them.

I hope this helps! Now, get the planning!
