It’s December 1st family which means it’s the MOST wonderful time of the year! This is a very busy time right now because of all of the festivities going on this month. From school winter shows, school class holiday parties, work parties, Christmas family activities, movies coming out this month (hello Avatar 2), Christmas parades, holiday shopping and wrapping gifts, there is just so much to get done and so much to do!
But no matter how busy we are, my husband and I have made the time to do our annual Elf on the Shelf for our kids. If you are not familiar with Elf on the Shelf, it is a Christmas tradition in which Santa knows who has been naughty or nice by way of his elves (in a nutshell).
We have been doing this tradition for the last 4 years, and I can tell you our kids have been loving every bit of it. The first two years, we used one elf, but last year, we used two elves which made it more fun for us! And to keep it honest, for the first couple of years, my husband and I would just move the elf in different locations of our home and have the kids find him.
However, starting last year, we purchased an elf kit that was a game changer! The elf kit included daily activities along with the materials for those activities. You talkin’ about not having to think about what the elves were going to do?! This was definitely a game changer! For this year, we ordered from The Elf Kit Co. We ordered their 30 day elf kit (in which the activities start the day after Thanksgiving). They do offer other options like their 12 and 24 day kit. So if you are wanting stress lifted off of you for not having to think about what to do, go ahead and check out The Elf Kit Co.
Now that I’ve introduced you to Elf on The Shelf, please meet our elves, Buddy and Sophia! We really love Buddy and Sophia in our household. They are two fun-loving elves who like to get in a whole lot of stuff!
Love,
