Happy Monday fellow busy moms! I hope your weekend has been all that you’ve wanted it to be. I spent mine relaxing, resting, and watching my Christmas in July movies.
My family and I have a week-long vacay coming up in a few weeks, and I’m soooooo excited because it’s a surprise to the kids. I can’t wait to reveal where we will be headed (so be sure you have your notifications on Instagram by hitting that notification bell in my profile).
Anywho, so who knows that on any trip, it takes much thought, prepping, and planning for busy moms like us to get the family all packed and ready to go on a trip?
On today’s blog, I’m going to show you how to prepare for a trip as a busy mom.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR A TRIP AS A BUSY MOM
1 – LOCATION
It’s important to know where you are actually going. Are you staying local, traveling out of state, out of the country? All of these should be questions you should be asking yourself. Something simple like knowing if you would need to bring your passport or not can be crucial for your trip.
2 – WEATHER
Weather is also an essential item to consider when preparing for your trip. Are you currently traveling in the summer, fall, winter, or spring? Also, even if you know the season in which you will be traveling, it is still important for you to see the weather of the location you are going to. If you are headed to Florida, especially in the summertime, you can for sure expect hot weather and torrential downpours.
3 – MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
When you are preparing for your trip, it’s good to know how you will get to your destination. Will it be by car, train, airplane, boat? This is good to know because it can let you know how and what to pack. For example, if traveling by car, you can pack snacks and food in a cooler, whereas, if traveling by airplane, your food and snacks are sort of limited.
4 – LODGING
Just like you need to know the above three points, you will need to know where you will lodge for your vacay. Whether you will be in a hotel, a vacation house, or cabin, you can imagine there are things that you will need to bring to the vacation house that you won’t necessarily need at a hotel. So it’s definitely good to know what type of lodging you will be residing in during your vacation.
5 – LENGTH OF STAY
Lastly, you need to know the length of stay for your vacay. This is very important because it helps set the temperature of knowing how much to pack. You don’t want to not be paying attention to the length of stay, and then you end up with 3 pairs of underwear for a week’s stay. My motto is stay ready, so you won’t have to get ready!
So the next time you are preparing for your trip, be sure to consider these 5 things. Also, check out my video where I also discuss these items here.
